ABOUT CEDAR CREEK FARM & FIBER

This adventure began as a hobby many, many years ago when I was showing sheep. I started out raising Corriedales, but as life sometimes does, it took me in other directions and I stepped away from sheep for a while.

A few wonderful friends decided that sheep were missing from my life and surprised me with a beautiful Merino ewe bred to a Romeldale ram as a Christmas present. One sheep quickly turned into thirty, and before I knew it, I was right back where I belonged.

With a growing flock, I realized I needed to do something to help feed them—and make use of all that wonderful wool. My mom had worked at a fiber mill, so we started talking about fiber processing. Before long, we invested in a drum carder, and I discovered how much I truly love processing my own fleeces.

Then 2020 arrived. COVID shut everything down—no shows, no fiber events, and a lot of uncertainty. It was discouraging, but I kept going. I continued processing fiber, caring for the flock, and doing what I love.

By mid-2021, things began to look brighter. The flock continues to grow, fiber processing hasn’t slowed

Batts

We have a variety of different types of batts.  All of the fleeces that I process are from my sheep. If I pick up another fleece it is always from a local flock such as an East Friesian fleece or Lincoln fleece I obtained.
